LASER PROCEDURES

Yag Capsulotomy: Occasionally after having cataract surgery, the lens capsule will become cloudy or wrinkled, causing your vision to decline. This is called posterior capsular opification. To treat this, you will come to our office, your eye will be numbed, and a laser will be used to make a small opening in the capsule. Recovery time is around 1 day.

Laser Peripheral Iridotomy: If you have narrow angles, you're at risk for angle closure glaucoma. This is when the iris blocks fluid from draining properly, causing a build up of pressure quickly. If not treated immediately, this can cause loss of vision permanently. This laser can be done proactively by helping the fluid drain as it should. This is done in office.

Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty: Patients with glaucoma may need this procedure to help lower their intraocular pressure. Sometimes medication is not enough, or the glaucoma is too progressed and needs laser intervention to help control the pressure. This is done in office.
